Four Crazy Investing Stats That Will Make You Laugh

When you think about investing, it’s usually a serious topic. Here are a few things that might make you laugh, at least chuckle or maybe shake your head in amazement.

1. 35 Percent Of Americans Can’t Afford To Retire.

Although this can make you laugh (or cry), the actual percentage continues to go up. In 2015, almost a third of workers had less than $1,000 in savings and investments.

See related article here.

Not wanting to save now, some workers plan to continue working later in life. You can control if you save now, but it’s much harder to control whether you’ll retire later. Health issues, layoffs, disability problems or company closures can make you retire earlier than you may have planned.

2. More Americans Own Cats Than Stocks.

This one is kind of funny. Maybe we think it’s easier to own a cat than a stock. Although reports don’t always specify the type of pet, 67 percent of US households had at least one pet in 2019.

A Gallup poll taken in 2019 showed 55 percent of us own stock, either individual stocks, as part of a mutual fund or a retirement savings account.

3. Social Security Keeps One-Third of Older Americans Out Of Poverty.

So, you work all your life and when you retire, Social Security will provide only enough to keep you out of poverty? And that’s if Social Security is still available. This doesn’t paint a picture of a lot of travel, cruises and relaxation!

In fact, the National Council on Aging reported, “Over 25 million Americans aged 60+ are economically insecure—living at or below 250% of the federal poverty level [2017] ($29,425 per year for a single person). These older adults struggle with rising housing and health care bills, inadequate nutrition, lack of access to transportation, diminished savings, and job loss. For older adults who are above the poverty level, one major adverse life event can change today’s realities into tomorrow’s troubles.”

4. Over 70 Percent Of Americans Don’t Like Their Jobs.

You may agree with this one. With a smirk on your face, you are probably saying you could have told us that! You might be in a dead end job where there’s no room for advancement. Maybe you’re not being paid what you’re worth or you’ve got a boss you can’t stand.

All of these things can make you hate your job and want to move on. Job loyalty seems to be dead.

The facts above may have made you chuckle, or they may have made you realize the importance of preparing for the future. Luckily for you, we have one more stat that won’t make you laugh. Instead, it will help you.

5. Investing with Algorithmic Intelligence Means You Don’t Have To Be An Expert.

We based parts of this blog on this article. It said, “About 50 percent of the people who said they don’t invest in stocks claimed they didn’t have the money to do so, while another 21 percent said they didn’t know about stocks and 7 percent said investing in stocks was too risky.”

At iFlip, we make it easy to invest. You don’t have to be an expert. You don’t have to have a lot of money. You don’t have to know about stocks. And because we use Algorithmic Intelligence (AI), the risk is limited.

Using the best algorithmic trading software, iFlip’s strategy has been proven to beat the market. It has the power to preserve, protect and grow your wealth.

Most retirement accounts run on a “buy and hold” strategy. This means your money is held in the market through the crashes and growing times. You can make a lot of money when the market is good, but lose plenty when it crashes.

The automated trading software at iFlip works with retirement accounts like 401K, ROTH and IRA’s, as well as personal investment accounts.

A day trading app will soon be available. This will let you easily check your account on your phone.

See how simple it is to start investing for your retirement by using the algorithmic trading software at iFlip.
